WASHINGTON, D.C. — Security at the White House is under the microscope following a major security breach.  Things got heated Tuesday during a Congressional hearing.

A man with a knife jumped the fence, made it inside the White House, and all the way to the East Room on September 19th.  Omar Gonzalez reportedly overpowered a guard, then ran past the stairway leading to the First Family’s residence.  One on-duty secret service officer and two off-duty agents finally stopped him.

“Don’t let somebody get close to the President,” said Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R, UT).  “Don’t let somebody get close to his family.  Don’t let them get into the White House.  Ever. If they have to use lethal force, I will have their back.”

The President and his daughters had already left the building for the weekend when that security breach occurred.
