Β CHARLOTTE, NC — A united effort to fight domestic violence. Β Community organizers held the Breaking the Chains vigil at the Beatties Ford Road Regional Library in west Charlotte Thursday night. Β
Dozens showed support for the victims who live in fear. Β They also supported families who’ve lost loved ones, and celebrated those who have survived abuse. Β
“I’m just grateful to God that I heard His voice speak to me and say it was time to go,” said domestic violence survivor Shumorcon Little. Β “So I packed up my two children and I left.”
Domestic Violence Awareness Month is observed in October.
