Tim Hudson, who owns a career 18-5 mark against the Nationals franchise, takes the mound for the Giants against Jordan Zimmermann, who tossed a no-hitter in his last start Sunday.
LOS ANGELES (AP) β After dropping the series opener 10-9, the LA Dodgers try to even things up with the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 2 of that NLDS (9:37 p.m. Eastern) . The Dodgers go with 17-game winner Zack Greinke (GREHN’-kee) against the Cards’ Lance Lynn, who was 15-10 in the regular season.
OXFORD, Miss. (AP) β It’s a huge day in the SEC with three games involving teams that are all ranked in the AP Top 25. Third-ranked Alabama gets its first true SEC test when it hits the road to play at 10th-ranked Ole Miss (3:30 p.m. Eastern). Both teams are 4-0.
AUBURN, Ala. (AP) β Fifth-ranked Auburn hosts No. 15 LSU tonight (7 p.m. Eastern). LSU is 4-1 while Auburn is perfect in four starts. This is a potential make-or-break game for LSU in the heavily contested SEC West race with five other teams remaining unbeaten.
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) β Sixth-ranked Texas A&M travels to 12th-ranked Mississippi State in a noon (Eastern) start in a battle of unbeatens. This is the first game matching two top 15 teams at Wade Davis Stadium in Starkville since 1986 and will help shape the pecking in order in college football’s toughest division, the SEC West.
