CLAREMONT, NC – Classmates say high school sophmores Alec Sigmon and Justin Turner were coming from a party when the car they were in crashed around 10pm Friday night.

“I had talked to him about 30 minutes before the accident happened, and he didn’t really text back, so I never really thought anything else about it,” says Sigmon’s friend Breanna Walker. She says shortly after that she heard sirens from her bedroom window.

Orange spray paint marks the path the car took along Riverbend Road. Classmates from Bunker Hill High School gathered at the spot all day to remember them.

We’re told Justin Turner was on the baseball team. Walker says she knew Sigmon best.  “He would always put a smile on your face and would always be a good friend. And be there for you,” she says.

We’re told three other people were injured when the Mercedes-Benz crashed and that no other cars were involved. We saw neighbors repairing a fence near a tree the car hit. Late Satruday night, a rock outside Bunker Hill High School was painted in memory of Alec and Justin.

Parents say they’re holding their kids closer.  Especially Brianna’s mom.  “He had asked her to come to the house that they were at, and you just stop and think wondering what if I had let her go, they could have been bringing her home,” says Cindy Walker.
