Β CATAWBA COUNTY, NC — Two Catawba County teens killed in a car crash will be laid to rest Tuesday. Β Classmates at Bunker Hill High School gathered around a rock painted in memory of Alec Sigmon and Justin Turner Monday. Β Both were 15.

The car they were riding in crashed into a tree on Riverbend Road in Claremont Friday night. Β Troopers say the driver was going too fast and lost control. Β That driver and two others in the car were hurt. Β

The Highway Patrol reconstructed the crash scene Monday. Β Bunker Hill Principal Jeff Isenhour says it’s difficult for such a tight-knit community. Β “It’s one that people will heal in time, but it’s one where they’re scarred forever as a result of it.”

Justin Turner’s funeral is at 10:30 at First Presbyterian Church in Newton. Β Alec Sigmon’s funeral is at 2pm at St. Mark’s Lutheran in Claremont. Β The school will provide transportation for students who want to attend.
