Health officials have confirmed another three cases, bringing the total to nine. Β The CDC has confirmed nearly 600 cases of the respiratory virus in 43 states. Β The death of a preschooler in New Jersey last month is the first linked directly to D-68.
There are things parents can do to protect their children. Β Make sure they wash their hands regularly. Β Disinfect commonly-touched surfaces like toys and door handles. Β And keep sick kids home from school. Β Some children who have D-68 have also reported experiencing paralysis.
