ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Two men stopped for a speeding violation on I-85 were taken to jail after police found 63 pounds of marijuana in their van. Β
Jacky Kong and his passenger, Timithoy Cheung, are both facing trafficking charges. Β Police say Kong gave officers permission to search the vehicle. Β They found 63 pounds of high grade marijuana in two boxes in the back of the van. Β Investigators say the street value of the marijuana is $250,000. Β
Both suspects have been charged with trafficking marijuana by possession, trafficking marijuana by transporting, trafficking marijuana by manufacturing, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
