Davidson’s Quarterback Arrested After On-Campus Fight

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Officials say the starting quarterback for Davidson’s football team was arrested early Sunday morning.

A school spokesperson says John Phillip ‘JP’ Douglas was arrested and charged with assault.  Douglas was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.

He is accused of fighting with another student in their on-campus apartment.  The student had to receive medical treatment from the injuries he received during the fight.

Police also found two knives inside the apartment.  Douglas has been suspended from the team until further notice.
