UPDATE: All power has been restored in Union County as of 11:45 a.m. Wednesday.
UNION COUNTY, N.C. — A power outage in Union County is affecting dozens of schools in the area. Β
Union Power Cooperative says the outage is affecting approximately 24,000 people in western Union County and in parts of Mecklenburg County. Β
The outage is due to a Duke Energy substation outage. Β Crews are working to resolve the issue at this time. Β
