Police Identify Man Hit And Killed By Train Near Uptown

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have released the name of the man who was hit and killed by a train near Uptown.  

Investigators say 32-year-old Jarvis Glover was walking on the railroad tracks adjacent to North Tryon Street around 6:30pm Thursday evening when a train was approaching.  

The train conductor activated the warning horn, bell and put the train into an emergency braking but was unable to stop before striking Glover.
