CHARLOTTE, NC — It’s a homecoming for the Charlotte Hornets.  Talk about a flashback Friday, the Queen City is buzzing like it’s 1988 all over again.

The Hornets are putting on a Buzz Fest for fans this weekend, fans who are going crazy for the purple and teal.  The Hornets are second in the NBA for new season ticket sales, they’ve added new corporate sponsors, and Hornet’s gear is flying off the shelves.  The Buzz is back!

“My family grew up with the Hornets here in Charlotte,” said former Hornet Del Curry.  “To get the name back, then have the team in place that we have this year and going forward, it’s really exciting times.  I can’t wait until opening night.”

“It’s a piece of my childhood,” added Cotswold resident Carl Brunner.  “It’s the Hornets.  I just remember making that drive, getting stuck in traffic, leaving the parking lot, but staying to the last minute.  I just wanted to relive that.”

The Hornets kick off the season Wednesday.  You can watch the team practice at the arena on Saturday, and then get autographs after.
