NEW ORLEANS (AP) β In case you missed the NFL game last night the Saints breezed past the Packers 44-23. Drew Brees (breez) completed 27 of 32 passes for the Saints, good for 311 yards and three touchdowns. The Saints are 3-4 while the Packers are now 5-3.
HAINAN ISLAND, China (AP) β The rain-shortened LPGA event in China has come to an end with the winner being South Africa’s Lee-Anne Pace. She finished play three shots in front of Germany’s Caroline Masson A pair of Americans, Michelle Wie (wee) and Jessica Korda wound up tied for third.
SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic (AP) β St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Oscar Taveras was killed in a car accident yesterday in the Dominican Republic. The 22-year old made his major league debut this season and hit .239 with three home runs.
