CHARLOTTE, N.C. – This past Saturday over 30 competitors from across the U.S. came to Charlotte to compete in the first Great Bells of Fire Kettlebell Sport Championship. The event, hosted by PRIDE Conditioning in Charlotte was one of 2 events held by the American Kettlebell Alliance.
Kettlebell lifting originated in Russia and is over 100 years old. Its popularity has only recently grown within the last four years. The sport tests strength, endurance and mental toughness. This year, the AKA has held 31 events throughout the USA, two of which are held in Charlotte.
The American Kettlebell Alliance is a part of the International Union of Kettlebell Lifting.
