MATTHEWS, NC– Due to a vehicle crash on the I-485 inner loop at mile marker 54, I-485 will be closed on the inner loop side starting from John Street to Providence Road.
I 485 inner loop is shut down near mile marker 54 which is between the John St. overpass and Matthews Weddinton Rd. Overpass due to an traffic accident. Traffic is being diverted off I 485 inner loop at John St. onto John St. Traffic will also be diverted off of I 485 inner loop at Hwy 74, Independence Blvd. Please try to avoid this area at this time.
One driver has been transported by ground to CMC Main with unknown injuries.
Highway Patrol is currently on scene investigating.
