MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) β Miami and North Carolina are both on the brink.
The brink of what, that’s still to be determined.
When the Hurricanes (5-3, 2-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) and the Tar Heels (4-4, 2-2) meet Saturday, it could essentially serve as an elimination game for someone’s hopes of playing for a league title. Both teams start the weekend a half-game out of first in the muddled Coastal Division, but also just a game out of the basement.
Clearly, there’s no room for slippage now.
Miami is a two-touchdown favorite, though recent history suggests this one could go down to the wire. Each of the last three Carolina-Miami meetings has been decided in the final minute, with the Hurricanes going 2-1 in those contests.
