FORT MILL, SC — A registered sex offender seen exercising near a local school has agreed to change his jogging path.
York County Sheriff’s Deputies asked Jason Knapp Thursday to stop running near Orchard Park Elementary School. Alert parents noticed Knapp recently and reported him. Knapp told deputies he runs in the area for exercise.
Deputies say he committed no crime and did not go onto school property or a nearby public playground. Knapp was convicted in 2000 of multiple sex offenses, some involving obscene phone calls, but the specifics are unclear. We know his victim was a 45-year-old woman.
