NEW YORK (AP) β€” The fall art auctions are about to sizzle.

Among the works being offered at the New York City auctions are coveted paintings by Andy Warhol of Elvis Presley and Marlon Brando. Single-owner collections with such boldface names as Lauren Bacall and Joan Fontaine also are on tap.

The high-end art auction season gets off to a flying start on Tuesday with Vincent van Gogh’s “Still Life, Vase With Daisies and Poppies” at Sotheby’s. It’s one of the few works sold during his lifetime and was painted weeks before his death. It could sell for up to $50 million.

The following week, on Nov. 12, Christie’s is selling Warhol’s “Triple Elvis (Ferus Type) and “Four Marlons.” Neither has ever been offered at auction. Each is estimated at around $60 million.
