Manning vs. Brady
UNDATED (AP) β Two certain Hall of Famers lead their respective teams into the marquee match-up on the NFL schedule when New England hosts Denver in snow-blanketed Foxborough.
Peyton Manning continues to break records for the 6-1 Broncos, establishing the new mark for career touchdown passes earlier this season. Manning currently is tied for the longest streak in NFL history with 13 straight games of two or more touchdown passes.
Tom Brady has gotten the best of Manning in their career, holding a 10-5 mark. He has been on fire lately, matching Manning’s 14 touchdown passes in October.
This will be the first time in NFL history that two quarterbacks with 150 wins each have squared off against each other.
Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is out for today’s game against 6-1 Arizona with reportedly two small cracked bones in his back. That leaves the starting duties for the NFC East leaders to Brandon Weeden, who will make his first NFL start. DeMarco Murray has rushed for eight straight 100-yard games for 6-2 Dallas. But the Cardinals defense hasn’t allowed a 100-yard rushing performance in 17 straight games.
The Steelers and Ravens have their second meeting of the season this evening. Both AFC North rivals enter the game at 5-3, just percentage points back of first-place Cincinnati. Baltimore won the Week 2 meeting and has won three of the last four at Heinz Field.
The Bengals host 1-7 Jacksonville
The struggling 4-3 Seahawks are at home, where they’re hoping to get better against the winless Raiders. The Super Bowl champs start the day two games back of the Cardinals for first in the NFC West.
Washington welcomes quarterback Robert Griffin III back to the starting line-up after he missed six-plus games with a dislocated left ankle. The Redskins visit Minnesota.

NBA-SCHEDULE
Unbeatens in action
UNDATED (AP) β The first Sunday of the NBA regular season features all four of the 2-0 teams. In Miami, the Southeast Conference-leading Heat plays host to Toronto, which tops the Atlantic Division. The Clippers and Warriors are 2-0 at the top of the Pacific Division. The Clippers host Sacramento this afternoon, while the Warriors visit Portland tonight.
Four games make up the NBA schedule.

Tom Pernice (pur-NEES) Jr. and Kenny Perry share the lead heading into today’s play, with Jay Haas just a shot back. Fred Couples and Colin (KAH’-lihn) Montgomerie are two off the pace.

Racing at Texas
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) β The countdown to the Chase Championship continues at the Texas Motor Speedway today. There are only two races left to determine the final four who will compete for the season title at the finale at Homestead.
Matt Kenseth is the pole sitter for today’s race and likely needs a win in one of the next two to stay in contention. He’s won twice on the high-banked, 1 1-2 -mile Texas track.

FORMULA ONE-US GRAND PRIX
Boycott threat hangs over US Grand Prix
AUSTIN, Texas (AP) β The U.S. Grand Prix is on tap today, but the Formula One race is Texas is facing the threat of a boycott. Some of the financially struggling teams are thinking about either not racing or pulling out after one lap. The race is already set to start 18 cars, the smallest Formula One field in nine years, because of financial burdens on some of the teams.
Nico Rosberg is the pole sitter. He starts the day 17 points back of Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton in the points standings with just three races to go.
NHL-SCHEDULE
Canucks make quick turn around
UNDATED (AP) βSurging Vancouver is right back on the ice tonight after a win over Edmonton last night. The Canucks have won four in a row heading into their home meeting with Central Division co-leader Nashville. The Predators have split the first two games of their six-game road trip. They share the division lead with Minnesota.
Vancouver starts the day two points back of Anaheim for the Pacific Division lead. The Ducks are on the road to take on Colorado. Corey Perry is off to a fast start for Anaheim this season with a league-leading 10 goals in 12 games.
Montreal is back home to host Calgary after a 1-2 road trip that included a win over the Flames in a shootout Tuesday night. The Canadiens have won all four on their home ice this season, helping them to tie Tampa Bay for the Atlantic Division lead.

MARATHON-NEW YORK
Kenyans sweep NYC Marathon
NEW YORK (AP) β Wilson Kipsang of Kenya has won the men’s title at the New York City Marathon. Countrywoman Mary Keitany captured the women’s title.
Kipsang won in an unofficial time of 2 hours, 10 minutes, 59 seconds. Boston Marathon champ Meb Keflezighi (kehf-LEHZH’-gee) of the United States was fourth.
Keitany won in her first marathon since 2012 after the birth of her second child.
