WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Obama says the new balance of power in Congress will not stop him from pushing immigration reform.  Republicans have control of the House and Senate for the next two years.

The President says he will use executive orders to reduce deportations and improve border security by the end of the year if he has to.  He says he prefers Congressional action.

“They want to get a bill done, whether it’s during the lame duck or over the next year; I am eager to see what they have to offer.  But, what I’m not going to do is just wait,” said the President.

As for the Republican sweep last night, President Obama says Americans are clearly not happy with the way things are going in Washington, and want elected officials to work together.
