NEW YORK (AP) β€” A second day of testimony is on tap today in Ray Rice’s appeal hearing of his indefinite suspension from the NFL for hitting his now wife, Janay. She may testify. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell (guh-DEHL’) testified yesterday during a session that lasted around nine hours.

LONDON (AP) β€” Dallas quarterback Tony Romo practiced for the first time since arriving in London for Sunday’s game with Jacksonville, taking part in drills today. He’s been bothered by fractures in two small bones in his back that kept him out of Sunday’s loss to Arizona. If Romo can’t play against the Jaguars, Brandon Weeden is expected to get his second straight start.

CINCINNATI (AP) β€” Not only are Ohio bragging rights on the line, but first place in the AFC North is as well when Cleveland takes on Cincinnati in tonight’s NFL game. The 5-2-1 Bengals can hold onto the top spot with a win, while the 5-3 Browns are looking for their fourth straight win that would pull them into a first-place tie with Pittsburgh.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) β€” No. 19 Clemson takes on Wake Forest tonight, trying to keep alive hopes of making another trip to the Orange Bowl. The selection committee ranks the 6-2 Tigers as the Atlantic Coast Conference’s second-best team. If they maintain that position and No. 2 Florida State makes the playoff, Clemson will earn its third Orange Bowl berth in four years.

SHANGHAI (AP) β€” Graeme McDowell opened with seven birdies in 12 holes on the way to a 5-under 67 and the lead after one round of the HSBC Champions. Rickie Fowler heads up a group two shots back, which includes Martin Kaymer (KY’-mur), Brandt Snedeker and Tim Clark.
