RALEIGH, NC — Republican Senator-Elect Thom Tillis plans to begin work in D.C. next week. Β A day after narrowly unseating incumbent Kay Hagan, Tillis spoke in Cornelius Wednesday about developing bipartisan efforts to boost the economy. Β He says he’s also focused on fulfilling his campaign promise to repeal Obamacare.
“We’ve been given an opportunity to lead, and now we have to lead. Β And that means moving bills from the House to the Senate and to the President’s desk,” said Tillis.
Tillis is one of nine freshman Republican senators. Β He says he plans to pay his dues and meet with the senior leadership to see where his help is needed.
