CHARLOTTE, NC — Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s Deputy Superintendent is now running the district on an interim basis. Ann Clark is taking over after Dr. Heath Morrison’s sudden and unexpected resignation this week.
Clark sent a message to CMS employees today, saying this has been a “difficult and sometimes painful week” for the district. Clark talked to WCCB News @ Ten anchor Will Kennedy Friday about the challenges she faces.
“I do think it will be our budget, and making tough decisions. And having to prioritize strategies within that strategic plan,” she said.
Clark says she will continue to implement the district’s 2018 strategic plan. The school board says it has no plans to start searching for a new Superintendent at this time.
