Mike Conley scored 20 points, Courtney Lee finished with 17 and Zach Randolph added 16 as the Grizzlies dropped the Thunder to 1-5. Sacramento is a surprising 5-1 after DeMarcus Cousins had 25 points and 18 rebounds in the Kings’ fifth straight win, a 114-112 decision over Phoenix in double overtime.
DOVER, Del. (AP) β NASCAR driver Kurt Busch has been accused of domestic assault by his ex-girlfriend, and police in Delaware say they are investigating. The Dover Police Department says the allegations were brought to the department Wednesday. Busch’s ex-girlfriend says the allegations involve an incident inside his motorhome at a race at Dover International Speedway in September.
AVONDALE, Ariz. (AP) β Denny Hamlin will start from the pole for Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway as he tries to secure one of the four remaining spots in the Chase finale. Hamlin turned a lap at 142.113 mph yesterday to take the top starting spot. He was followed by Chase drivers Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick.
LONDON (AP) β Tony Romo has practiced with the Cowboys for a second straight day as he continues to recover from fractures in two small bones in his back. Coach Jason Garrett says Romo looked comfortable but still hasn’t decided if he’ll start at quarterback against Jacksonville Sunday. If Romo can’t go, Brandon Weeden will get his second straight start for Dallas.
JACKSON, Miss. (AP) β David Toms and John Rollins are clubhouse co-leaders at the midway point of the PGA’s Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi. Both are at 10-under par and two shots ahead of Nick Taylor after shooting 6-under 66s today. Fifteen players were on the course when play was suspended by darkness.
