CHARLOTTE, NC — Soldiers from Fort Bragg are on their way to west Africa to help with the Ebola outbreak. Β It comes as we learn more about an SIM missionary being closely monitored here in Charlotte for signs of Ebola.
Dr. John Frankhauser recently returned from Liberia. Β He is under quarantine in an RV park behind SIM’s campus in southwest Charlotte for the next two weeks. Β Frankhauser is not showing any symptoms, but had contact with a person in Liberia who later developed Ebola.
“The sacrifices he is making and the courage that he has in that sacrifice is a great example to all of us, and it is also a great encouragement to the Liberians,” said SIM Medical Director Paul Hudson.
Frankhauser has to report his temperature twice a day. Β He has to get permission before leaving the county.
