CHARLOTTE, NC — Ex-Charlotte mayor Patrick Cannon reports to federal prison in six days, but he may not have to serve his entire sentence.
A judge sentenced Cannon to 44 months after he admitted accepting bribes. WCCB Charlotte legal analyst George Laughrun says participation in treatment program and time off for good behavior could shave months, or even years, off the sentence.
WCCB Charlotte’s Courtney Francisco will be in Morgantown, West Virginia when Cannon reports to prison. Look for her reports beginning Monday night on WCCB News @ Ten.
