In part, it’s a matter of perspective. Β A billion is a lot to most of us, but Sue Ann and Harold Hamm aren’t most of us. He is one of America’s oil tycoons. Β She was his wife for 25 years, and a lawyer for his company. Β Being awarded nearly a billion dollars in cash and assets doesn’t come close to the $14 billion he’s worth, so she’s appealing.
But a billion dollars could be a lot of temptation for the rest of us. Β Heck, a couple of hundred could be temptation for some of us.
