CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — The marketing agent for Cam Newton says the quarterback’s Twitter account has been suspended after it was hacked. Carlos Fleming, who represents the Carolina Panthers star for IMG, says the issue is being resolved. Newton’s account was shut down yesterday afternoon following a tweet calling Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman “overrated.” That preceded more bizarre tweets.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Malcolm Brogdon and Justin Anderson scored 17 points each and Virginia closed the first half on a 22-6 run and beat South Carolina State 75-55 last night. The Bulldogs were led by Karon Wright with 15 points, all coming on 3-pointers in the second half.

CONWAY, S.C. (AP) — Warren Gillis scored 15 points and had six assists to lead Coastal Carolina to an 82-51 win over Columbia International last night. Gillis reached double-digit scoring for the 24th consecutive game.
