Mortimer was 6 of 8 from the field as the Bulldogs shot 51 percent from the floor overall. Edward Stephens and Gerdarius Troutman both scored 14 points while Darryl Palmer had 12 points and 12 rebounds.
CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — Saah Nimley had 27 points as Charleston Southern jumped out to a 41-24 halftime advantage and eased to an 80-67 victory over Central Arkansas last night. Nimley, who made 5 of 13 3-point attempts, also had four assists. Will Saunders added 16 points and Cedrick Bowen chipped in 12.
SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) — Karl Cochran hit five 3-pointers and finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds while Spencer Collins added 18 points, helping Wofford turn back Division-II Ohio Valley 82-54 last night. The Terriers shot 49.1 percent from the field and hit 9 of 18 3-pointers. Justin Gordon chipped in 13 points and Jaylen Allen had 10 for Wofford.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — Xavier Rathan-Mayes scored 26 points and led Florida State to a 66-55 win against The Citadel yesterday, breaking a three-game losing streak. Freshman Rathan-Mayes’ career-high followed a 22-point effort in a loss to Providence last week.
