CHARLOTTE, NC — Thousands of hungry people will have a free, hot meal Thursday, thanks to a restaurant in south Charlotte.

Skyland on South Boulevard spent Wednesday evening packing up fresh turkey, yams and cranberry sauce.  They will feed the homeless, poor, travelers… anyone who wants a good, hardy meal.

“We just want to make sure everybody have a meal tomorrow,” said Skyland owner Jimmy Kakavitsas.  “It’s a big holiday for our country here, and we want to make sure everybody have a meal.”

Skyland plans to give away 3,000 meals between 11am and 3pm on Thursday.
