CHARLOTTE, N.C. —  The announcement of Claudia Gray’s new science fiction series already has fans buzzing. Popular teen outlet Pop Crush named it among the Top 10 Most Anticipated YA Books of 2014 and NYT bestselling author Jennifer Armentrout calls it “A thrilling adventure that will keep you guessing until the end.”

A Thousand Pieces of You follows heroine Marguerite whose father is mysteriously murdered after he invents a device—the Firebird—which promises to revolutionize science forever by allowing users to jump into multiple universes across space and time as themselves. Vowing to avenge her father’s death, Marguerite must confront betrayal, grief and trust issues as she leaps into disparate locations to chase her father’s killer. To accomplish her goal, she must learn how each world works and come to terms with alternate versions of herself to understand the many people she has the capacity to become.

Claudia already has two popular YA series to her credit (under the name Amy Vincent). Her Evernight series, detailing the exploits at a gothic boarding school for vampires, landed her on the New York Times bestseller list, and her Spellcaster books proved a popular follow-up for her fans.

I missed her when she passed through Charlotte, but we were able to catch up by Skype.
