IGLS, Austria (AP) β Two-time Olympic luge champion Felix Loch dominated the first men’s race of the World Cup season on Sunday.
The German, who won the overall World Cup title for the past three seasons, posted the fastest time in both runs and finished in an aggregate of 1 minute, 40.428 seconds.
Dominik Fischnaller of Italy came second in each run and trailed Loch by 0.137, while Andi Langenhan finished 0.201 off the lead to make it a German 1-3 finish.
Germany has won all the races of the season-opening weekend so far after Toni Eggert and Sascha Benecken took the men’s doubles and Natalie Geisenberger the women’s race on Saturday.
The meet on the 1976 Olympic track is concluded later Sunday by the inaugural sprint event for top-15 ranked athletes.
