CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police charged a man in connection with a shooting death in the University area of Charlotte. Investigators say William Cagle shot and killed Emery Wampler Monday afternoon.
Police believe the men were involved in a physical altercation inside a home on Katelyn Drive when Cagle allegedly shot Wampler.
Cagle stayed on the scene and voluntarily went to police headquarters to be interviewed. After being questioned by police, Cagle was charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
