CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police charged a man in connection with a shooting death in the University area of Charlotte. Β Investigators say William Cagle shot and killed Emery Wampler Monday afternoon. Β
Police believe the men were involved in a physical altercation inside a home on Katelyn Drive when Cagle allegedly shot Wampler. Β
Cagle stayed on the scene and voluntarily went to police headquarters to be interviewed. Β After being questioned by police, Cagle was charged with murder and possession of a firearm by a felon.
