Β HUNTERSVILLE, NC — The mother of a teen, killed in Huntersville, is begging witnesses to come forward nearly a year after the murder.

Peter Jordan was shot several times while visiting a friend at the Landings Apartments off Sam Furr Road in February. Β It was the city’s first murder in two years. Β The Huntersville police chief says there are several people of interest, but not enough evidence to make an arrest. Β Jordan’s mother, Carolyn Averill, says her son would have turned 20 on Sunday.

“It was very difficult for me,” she said. Β “Very difficult for the entire family. Β I spent about two hours at the cemetery just sitting there and wishing he was here with me.”

There is a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Jordan’s killer. Β Anyone with information should call Huntersville Police at 704-464-5000.
