HUNTERSVILLE, NC — The mother of a teen, killed in Huntersville, is begging witnesses to come forward nearly a year after the murder.

Peter Jordan was shot several times while visiting a friend at the Landings Apartments off Sam Furr Road in February.  It was the city’s first murder in two years.  The Huntersville police chief says there are several people of interest, but not enough evidence to make an arrest.  Jordan’s mother, Carolyn Averill, says her son would have turned 20 on Sunday.

“It was very difficult for me,” she said.  “Very difficult for the entire family.  I spent about two hours at the cemetery just sitting there and wishing he was here with me.”

There is a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Jordan’s killer.  Anyone with information should call Huntersville Police at 704-464-5000.
