Three Local Churches Targeted By Theives

CHARLOTTE, NC — Three Charlotte churches: the targets of burglaries.

Thieves first hit up Newell Baptist Church on Sunday night.  They stole $3,000 worth of sound equipment.  Then just before midnight Monday, burglars broke into Saint Paul’s Presbyterian, but didn’t take anything.  Fifteen minutes later, someone broke out a window at Living Faith Baptist Church.  Again, nothing was stolen.

“I saw the damage and the equipment missing,” said Pastor Scott Keith of Newell Baptist.  “I just prayed for them.  God would use this situation to touch their heart.  Maybe they needed to use the equipment more than we did.”

Police would not say if they think the three break-ins are connected.
