NEW YORK (AP) β€” Red Vine took a turf-to-dirt switch in stride, beating Moneyinyour Pocket by 3 1/2 lengths Thursday in the $69,000 allowance feature at Aqueduct.

The race, scheduled for the turf, was shifted to the main track. Red Vine was an unknown factor, having run exclusively on grass in the previous 13 races.

The 4-year-old colt trained by Christophe Clement smoothly handled his main track debut, ringing up the third career win. Manuel Franco was aboard for the 1 1/8 miles in 1:51.98 on the track rated good.

Red Vine, the 7-2 third choice, paid $9, $5.20 and $3.30. Moneyinyour Pocket, sporting the longest odds in the field at 16-1, returned $13.40 and $7.10.

Our Caravan paid $3.50 to show.
