ROCK HILL, S.C. — Police say two men stole a Salvation Army kettle outside a Bi-Lo in Rock Hill. Β The alleged theft happened Wednesday evening at the grocery store on South Charlotte Avenue.

Β Investigators say a man made a donation and began to talk to bell ringer Terry Chisolm, causing her to be distracted. Β A second suspect is accused of taking the kettle while the woman was talking to the man.

Β The men ran in different directions and then drove off. Β Chisolm tells WCCB Charlotte she isn’t surprised.

“For me to come out here at 10 in the morning and somebody come out here and set me up and just take my whole kettle, really hurts me,” said Chisolm.

Police say they got away with approximately $150 in donations. Β
