ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) β€” A person familiar with the decision tells The Associated Press that the Buffalo Bills have reached a settlement to waive injured receiver Mike Williams.

The person spoke on the condition of anonymity Monday because the Bills have not announced the move. Without going into detail, coach Doug Marrone said earlier in the day that the Bills were intending on making a roster move involving Williams.

Williams hurt his left calf in practice last week and missed Buffalo’s 24-17 loss at Denver on Sunday.

The fifth-year player had difficulty playing even when healthy. Williams was inactive in four of the last eight games. His last catch was an 8-yard reception in a 17-14 win at Detroit on Oct. 5.

Buffalo acquired Williams in a trade with Tampa Bay in April.
