Edge on Demand: What Does the Future Hold for Cam?

This video is no longer available.

We know that Cam Newton’s condition is not a career-ender.  But he is in the hospital overnight after a massive crash that flipped his truck several times near Bank of America Stadium.  It’s a situation that puts the season in question for him, and, obviously, the rest of the Panthers.

To recap Cam’s condition, he has two transverse fractures in his lower back.  Those are straight fractures, and should heal without any problem.  He doesn’t need surgery, and doesn’t have any internal injuries.  He’s listed in fair condition.

But how long it’ll keep him out is still up in the air.  And it’s just the latest in a long line of little injuries that have sidelined Superman off and on this year.

The crash happened on South Church Road at the I-277 bridge.  Witnesses say it looks like someone ran a stop sign, then T-boned Cam.  That person is also in the hospital.  The official report isn’t available yet.  And while we wait for those answers, the question most people have is: what will this mean for the Panthers?
