Β We know that Cam Newton’s condition is not a career-ender. Β But he is in the hospital overnight after a massive crash that flipped his truck several times near Bank of America Stadium. Β It’s a situation that puts the season in question for him, and, obviously, the rest of the Panthers. Β
To recap Cam’s condition, he has two transverse fractures in his lower back. Β Those are straight fractures, and should heal without any problem. Β He doesn’t need surgery, and doesn’t have any internal injuries. Β He’s listed in fair condition.
But how long it’ll keep him out is still up in the air. Β And it’s just the latest in a long line of little injuries that have sidelined Superman off and on this year.
The crash happened on South Church Road at the I-277 bridge. Β Witnesses say it looks like someone ran a stop sign, then T-boned Cam. Β That person is also in the hospital. Β The official report isn’t available yet. Β And while we wait for those answers, the question most people have is: what will this mean for the Panthers?
