Kelli Bartik and Brett Jensen join Morgan Fogarty and Rance Adams to discuss the impact Cam Newton’s crash will have on the field.
We expect to get an update from the team regarding Cam’s status on Wednesday after practice, and while he’s a very tough athlete, it’s our feeling that he’ll be watching from the sidelines when the Panthers play the Bucs on Sunday.
Cowboy’s quarterback Tony Romo suffered the same injury back during week 8 of the season. While he returned to finish that game against the Redskins, he missed the following week before he was back in live action.
It’s still hard to compare the injuries, the Dallas QB suffered his in a game, the Panthers QB, in a violent car wreck. Of course, Newton coming off one of, if not his best performance of the season, accounting for four touchdowns, 3 passing, 1 rushing, in the Panthers’ 4-10 win over the Saints.
The good news is, Cam’s going to be okay. It could have been a lot worse. Also good news: the Panthers have a solid backup quarterback to turn to if needed.
