LAS VEGAS (AP) β Steer wrestler K.C. Jones moved up in the world standings and the National Finals Rodeo standings by getting his first win of the event on Tuesday night.
Jones, of Decatur, Texas, won round six in a time of 3.5 and improved to second in the NFR aggregate standings with a time of 28.30 on six head. It was Jones’ first top-six finish at the competition. He is also fifth in the world standings with $101,058.
Four-time world champion Luke Branquinho of Los Alamos, California, didn’t finish among the top six in 5.5, but he held onto first place in both the world and NFR aggregate standings. He tops the world standings with $128,976 and leads the aggregate with a time of 24.60 over six rounds.
