We now know that neither driver will be charged in the crash that sidelined Cam Newton. Β Newton was traveling at the speed limit around 35 miles per hour on South Church Street. Β The other driver, Nestor Pellot, Jr., was trying to cross the street and was driving about 20 miles an hour when he hit Newton’s truck. Β That caused it to flip several times on the bridge over I-277.
Two witnesses told officers Pellot pulled out in front of Newton. Β Pellot says he didn’t see Cam’s truck. Β Two very different versions of what happened. Β
