The defending overall champion started first after her triumph in Friday’s sprint and remained ahead of the field for the entire 10-kilometer race. She also won the pursuit at the season-opening meet in Ostersund, Sweden, last week.
Makarainen missed one target and finished in 30 minutes, 44.8 seconds to beat second-placed Ekaterina Glazyrina of Russia, who also missed once, by 34.4 seconds.
Anais Bescond of France came another 12.1 seconds back in third.
Rosanna Crawford of Canada finished fifth for her best career result, while Olympic pursuit champion Darya Domracheva of Belarus missed five targets and finished 1:45.5 off the lead in 13th.
A men’s 12.5K pursuit concludes the meet in Austria later Sunday.
