The win, coupled with Atlanta’s loss to Pittsburgh, left the Panthers ahead of New Orleans in the division.
COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) β A’ja Wilson scored 23 points and Elem Ibiam had 21 points, both career highs, as South Carolina routed Savannah State 111-49 yesterday. The Gamecocks broke 100 points for the first time in coach Dawn Staley’s seven seasons and showed no rust from a week off for exams.
CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) β Rod Hall tied his career-high with 20 points to lead Clemson to a 72-61 victory over Auburn yesterday. It was the second straight victory for Clemson, which moved to a perfect 3-0 over Southeastern Conference opponents after defeating LSU and Arkansas earlier this season.
ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) β Warren Gillis scored 13 points, Elijah Wilson added 12, and Coastal Carolina beat South Carolina State 57-43 yesterday in a strong defensive performance to win their fourth straight game. Tristian Curtis scored 10 points and the Chanticleers held the Bulldogs to 30 percent shooting and outrebounded them 43-32.
