Some social scientists did a quick audit of the “Darwin Award” winners over the past 24 years: the tongue-in-cheek recognition of people who “removed themselves from the gene pool” by doing incredibly dumb activities. Β Stuff like trying to take selfies with wild elephants, or getting drunk and trying to slide down elevator shaft cables. Β Out of 318 cases, 282 of them went to men. Β Because men take stupid risks.
But there are some women out there who do stupid things too. Β Let’s face it: the “duckface selfie” is a chick thing. Β So is driving and putting on makeup. Β And sending guys intimate pictures from wildly insecure cell phones: dumb.
