MOORESVILLE, NC — We know the name of a Mooresville mother police say was shot by her son’s father. Β 32-year-old Lashondra Page was in critical condition Monday night.
35-year-old William Washington is locked up, charged with attempted first-degree murder. Β Police say he shot Page at a home on Sharpe Street in Mooresville Monday morning, then took off with their 3-year-old child. Β Police caught up with Washington and his son at a gas station on Graham Street in Charlotte. Β The boy is okay.
“It’s just very heartbreaking,” said Troutman resident Latoya Torrence, “because I’ve been through that myself before, and it’s nothing fun. Β And I just feel sorry for the kids, and I hope the mom makes it through and pulls through.”
Mooresville Police tell WCCB Charlotte they have responded to domestic violence calls at that home before.
