MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) β€” The 16-game winning streak of the Golden State Warriors is over. It ended last night in Memphis as the Grizzlies handed the Warriors a 105-98 defeat. Marc Gasol (gah-SAHL’) led the attack with 24 points while Zach Randolph had 17 points and 10 rebounds for the Grizzlies.

MILWAUKEE (AP) β€” The Milwaukee Bucks have lost rookie Jabari Parker for the rest of the season. He suffered a left knee injury in Monday’s win at Phoenix. The second overall pick in this year’s draft averaged 12.5 points and 5.6 rebounds per game this year. With Parker on the floor the Bucks have won 13 games this season, compared to just 15 all of last season.

NEW YORK (AP) β€” The Yankees have made it clear that they don’t see Alex Rodriguez contributing from the field. General manager Brian Cashman told The Associated Press yesterday that Rodriguez, who missed all of last season because of a suspension, will serve solely as a designated hitter. Cashman told the AP that even before the suspension, Rodriguez “wasn’t the same player at third base on the defensive or offensive side.”

SAN DIEGO (AP) β€” The San Diego Chargers have lost leading receiver Keenan Allen to a broken right collarbone. He suffered the injury in Sunday’s loss to Denver. The team also reports that Allen also injured his right ankle against the Broncos. He has 77 catches for 783 yards and four touchdowns this season.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) β€” NASCAR’s premier circuit, the Sprint Cup, will have a new name in three years. Sprint has informed NASCAR it won’t extend title sponsorship of the circuit’s top series beyond 2016. That’s when its current contract expires.
