VAL D’ISERE, France (AP) β No World Cup record for Lindsey Vonn and no podium finish either in the World Cup Super-G. Vonn crashed entering a gate, leaving her a win short of tying Annemarie Moser-Proll’s record of 62 World Cup wins. Vonn did no damage to her surgically repaired right knee.
ALTA BADIA, Italy (AP) β Olympic champ Ted Ligety had to settle for second best in the World Cup giant slalom today. He finished 1.45 seconds back of Austria’s Marcel Hirscher who captured his third straight win in giant slalom and slalom.
