CHARLOTTE, NC – Last-minute shoppers are expected to pack malls again Sunday, creating hassles and traffic headaches. And some malls stayed open late Saturday night, the busiest shopping day of the year.

Shoppers near Carolina Place Mall like Zack Ginier didn’t mind though. “The traffic’s not that bad, compared (to), I just saved $458 by coming out today. So it was a great easy choice for me,” Ginier says.

Across town at Concord Mills, people were lined up just to get near the mall. “It was backed up way back!” says Everette Sheffield. We found Sheffield waiting in the car for his wife and daughter. “If it were up to me, stay home, stay home, yeah,” he says.

But malls will are giving procrastinators plenty of opportunites to come out.

Sunday, Northlake and Charlotte Premium Outlets will open their doors at 9:00am. SouthPark and Carolina Place will open at 10:00am. And Concord Mills will open at 11:00am.
