Hawaii rallies to beat Colorado for 3rd place

HONOLULU (AP) β€” Isaac Fleming scored 18 points off the bench to lead Hawaii past Colorado 69-66 on Thursday in the third-place game of the Diamond Head Classic.

The Rainbow Warriors (10-4) led by eight points at the 8:24 mark of the second half, but fell behind after a 12-0 run by the Buffaloes, before closing out the game on a 6-0 run.

Negus Webster-Chan and Garrett Nevels added 12 points apiece for Hawaii.

Webster-Chan hit a right-handed floater from eight feet with 24 seconds remaining to give Hawaii at 67-66 lead β€” its first since 58-57 with just under six minutes to play. Roderick Bobbitt added a pair of free throws to make it a three-point lead.

Colorado had two chances to tie it in the final seconds, but Xavier Johnson and Askia Booker each missed a 3-pointer.

Josh Scott scored 23 points, Booker had 22 and Johnson 15 for the Buffaloes (7-5).
