Man on the Edge: Your Most Ridiculous Ticket?

Eating and driving.  You know you’ve done it.  Everybody does it.  But do it in some places, and you just might catch a ticket for it.  And that little nibble could cost you big in the points on your license.

It happened in Cobb County, Georgia, where a guy says he was stopped by police for being in possession of a quarter-pounder with cheese.  According to him, the officer said he had watch him eating the burger for two and a half miles.  Then wrote him a ticket under the distracted driving law, using “eating while driving” as the reason.

He goes to court next month, but at least one lawyer in the story says there’s nothing in the law about eating and driving.  But if every single ticket an officer ever gave out was unequivocally correct, there’d be no need for traffic court.  At least some of those tickets have to be unfair, right?
